My name is Josh and I worked at Gilligan’s Boats for three summers while attending college at Indiana State University. Gilligan’s provided me with an unparalleled work environment and afforded me the skills and experience that have attributed to my success in the Navy. I am currently in the final weeks of the United States Navy’s Advanced Jet Training Program in the process of becoming an F/A-18 pilot.

I learned hard work, discipline, and responsibility working at Gilligan’s. I originally started as a Deck Hand and was promoted to supervisor within my first summer. I can tell you from experience that if you put in the hard work required and take pride in your job, it will not go unnoticed at Gilligan’s! The daily interaction with many boaters helped increase my communication and interpersonal skills. This was very rewarding, helping others have a wonderful and memorable day on the lake. More importantly, I developed leadership skills when dealing with the upwards of 10 crew members during busy holiday weekends. Gilligan’s provides a very pleasant work environment, exceptional pay, great hours, and many more benefits too long to list.

I absolutely loved every minute that I spent working at Gilligan’s. Other than flying tactical jets, it would certainly be the “best job I ever had”. I was able to spend every day on the beautiful Patoka Lake and got paid to do it; I am very blessed that I had been given such an ideal opportunity.
