Staff Testimonials

For the past 2 summers I have worked at the Lagoon for Kerry and I can honestly say i LOVED my job!! Not only did I Have an AMAZING office with spectacular views but I was part of the Gilligans family.  During my summers i got to meet so many people and heard their stories,  birthdays, anniversarys, bachelor and bachelorette party's, quiet kid free getaways, and so much more.  I was proud to be a part of these groups celebrations and even more proud to be part of a family that offered all of these services to the many different groups.

Working for Gilligans has been such a great experience and it makes it difficult to leave. Kerry is a great leader and teacher and he makes it all look so easy (when i KNOW it isn't). He's a fair and flexible boss very understanding and patient. During both my summers i got to build friendships with my co-workers some of those friendships will be life long ones.  We worked hard but we played even harder.

Im going to miss my "office" and my second family as I move forward but Gilligans will ALWAYS have a special part of my heart!  All i can say is THANK YOU for allowing me to spend my summers out on Patoka Lake!!

"At Gilligan's Boats, I worked four summers in a challenging yet fun environment where my job was to help customers have a wonderful time on beautiful Patoka Lake. The amount of experience I gained with this company was substantial, allowing me the opportunity to learn Quickbooks software, gain professional interpersonal skills, attain problem solving abilities, learn management skills, and gain confidence and self worth in myself. At Gilligan's, if you work hard and give it your all, you are rewarded with trust and appreciation, as well as monetarily. I found first hand that hard work does not go unnoticed, and you are treated with respect."

"I worked at Gilligan's Boats for two summers through college. I worked on the docks, enjoyed being outside in the afternoons, and working on the lake. I was also working a second job and learned time management along will communications skills having to deal with managing two working schedules. Another communication skill I learn was working with different types of people; whether it was my employees or customers.  Now I am a Mechanical Engineer at a large company and rely on these communications skills to get each project done successfully and timely. My experience at Gilligan's Boats was a great one, and still today I can go on the lake and know boat numbers from a distance!!!

My name is Josh and I worked at Gilligan’s Boats for three summers while attending college at Indiana State University. Gilligan’s provided me with an unparalleled work environment and afforded me the skills and experience that have attributed to my success in the Navy. I am currently in the final weeks of the United States Navy’s Advanced Jet Training Program in the process of becoming an F/A-18 pilot.

I learned hard work, discipline, and responsibility working at Gilligan’s. I originally started as a Deck Hand and was promoted to supervisor within my first summer. I can tell you from experience that if you put in the hard work required and take pride in your job, it will not go unnoticed at Gilligan’s! The daily interaction with many boaters helped increase my communication and interpersonal skills. This was very rewarding, helping others have a wonderful and memorable day on the lake. More importantly, I developed leadership skills when dealing with the upwards of 10 crew members during busy holiday weekends. Gilligan’s provides a very pleasant work environment, exceptional pay, great hours, and many more benefits too long to list.

I absolutely loved every minute that I spent working at Gilligan’s. Other than flying tactical jets, it would certainly be the “best job I ever had”. I was able to spend every day on the beautiful Patoka Lake and got paid to do it; I am very blessed that I had been given such an ideal opportunity. At many times I reminisce to the wonderful summers spent working at Gilligan’s on Patoka Lake. Don’t miss out, THIS COULD BE YOU!
